Introduction
The film uses contemporary music as a theme to create a story that revolves around four string players who eventually formed a quartet to prepare for the execution of their string quartet concert. However, the values, motivation and directions among these players are totally different due to their very diverse background. For this reason, many struggles and conflicts among these musicians created lots of drama where dreams collide with the hardship of reality, and, love coexists with hate in an emotionally chaotic manner.
Plot
The story began when Lam Sieo failed to get a position at the City Orchestra subsequent to her graduation in the music school in Germany. As a consequence, Lam Sieo meet her friend Ao-Iong Fei, an amateur musician, who would like to help Lam Sieo to achieve her dream. The pair sought assistance from Lok Chin-I who was at the time a guest string player at the City Orchestra to form a quartet because she has good connection with Leng Fung, who is a well-established string player in the music community. Later, with Leng Fung’s connection and reputation in the industry, he managed to get the group a chance to deliver at a concert. In reality, the values, motivation and directions among these players are totally different due to their diverse background. For this reason, many struggles and conflicts among these musicians created a lot of drama where dreams collide with the hardship of reality. On top of this kind of mismatch in priority, the relationship among these string players show coexistence of love and hate in an emotionally chaotic manner.
Music Element
In this story, the string quartet consists of two men and two women. This film aims to depict the complexity and differences among these strings players. Due to the complexity of their personal relationship, the connection between these players in their performance faded away and their personal qualities was affected. But surprisingly, when the group was in a state of disintegration and loss, the chaotic situation stimulated the string quartet to create a perfectly balanced and mind-blowing performance at the final concert.

Born in a musical family but her mother passed away at early age. She studied music in Germany and upon graduation, she failed to join the City Orchestra in her hometown. She is arrogant and cold-hearted. In the quartet, only Leng Fung understands her. However, things changed when she discovered Leng Fung’s secret in his teenage.

He has a difficult upbringing after his father sustained injuries from work and his mother left the family at early age. He is an amateur musician who perceives financial reward as the ultimate measure of success. He knows Lam Sieo since childhood and he assumes that by joining the quartet, he can take his relationship further with her. He is very sociable, emotional and impulsive.

She is from an affluent family whose parents are always busy with their work and she is emotionally insecure due to her upbringing. Because of her father’s social status and connection, she is an invited strings player at the City Orchestra. She is very playful and loves excitements. She likes Ao-Ieong Fei and they have good interaction with each other.

He is a master musician and has very high aspiration for his music career. To him, nothing is more important than music. He is emotionally unavailable and emotionally repressed.
